Children with Cancer Become Firefighters in Da Nang

In Da Nang, Vietnam, the Rhythm of Love Club and the Da Nang City Fire Department organized a firefighter experience for young cancer patients. The program allowed children undergoing treatment for leukemia and thalassemia to spend an afternoon imagining themselves as firefighters. They explored fire trucks, equipment, and even a modern firefighting robot.

The event aimed to improve the children’s spirits and raise awareness about fire safety within the community. Parents noted the children’s excitement and happiness, with one mother saying her son hadn't been this cheerful in a long time.

While the program provided a welcome distraction from illness, the children still face ongoing health challenges. Organizers hope to continue offering these types of experiences to support young patients through their treatments.
