Vietnamese Youth Abroad Visit Hồ Chí Minh’s Childhood Homes

A group of young Vietnamese people living abroad visited the birthplace and childhood homes of President Hồ Chí Minh in Nghệ An province, Vietnam on July 15th. The delegation traveled from Vinh city to the Kim Liên national historical site, first stopping in Hoàng Trù, the location of Hồ Chí Minh’s maternal home where he spent his early years. They explored the traditional house and learned stories about his simple upbringing and strong connection to his homeland.

The group then moved to Làng Sen, Hồ Chí Minh’s paternal home, where he lived from 1901 to 1906. They viewed preserved artifacts including furniture and a writing desk, gaining insight into the family’s daily life. Many of the young visitors were experiencing these locations for the first time.

Several expressed a deeper understanding of Hồ Chí Minh’s life and a renewed sense of connection to their Vietnamese heritage. They plan to share their experiences with friends and family abroad, hoping to promote awareness of Vietnamese history and culture. The group will continue traveling across Vietnam as part of the Vietnam Summer Camp 2026.
