Vietnamese Electrician Connects Communities and Countries

Tran Minh Huy, head of the Tuy Duc Power Company in Lam Dong province, Vietnam, is recognized for his dedication to providing electricity to remote border communities and fostering cooperation with neighboring Cambodia. For over 20 years, Huy has prioritized teamwork and a supportive work environment within his unit. He consistently joins his colleagues in challenging fieldwork, even after being offered positions at the company headquarters.

Huy’s leadership transformed the Tuy Duc Power Company from a small team of nine operating out of basic housing into a cohesive unit. He emphasizes that maintaining solidarity is as important as technical expertise.

Beyond domestic service, the Tuy Duc Power Company manages the electrical connection to Cambodia through the Bu P’Răng border crossing. Huy views this as an opportunity to strengthen relations between the two countries, believing each kilowatt-hour transmitted represents trust and friendship. He remains humble about his contributions, attributing success to collective effort.
