Hanoi AI Cameras Detect Over 19,300 Traffic Violations

Why this is here: The system processed over 7,800 violations through the iHanoi app, allowing citizens to pay fines online and reducing travel costs.
Hanoi’s traffic police reported that AI-powered surveillance cameras detected 19,304 traffic violations within three months. The system began operation on December 13, 2025. Common violations included disobeying traffic signals, not wearing helmets, and failing to use seatbelts.
Police processed all 19,304 violations with 100% accuracy and timeliness. Since January 1, Hanoi piloted fully electronic administrative penalty processing via the iHanoi app. Over two months, 7,810 violations were integrated into the system, allowing citizens to handle infractions digitally.
The control center operates 1,837 AI cameras connected to traffic lights at 195 key intersections. Authorities adjusted 188 intersections and established 22 “green wave” routes to improve traffic flow by 4% to 18% in some areas.
