Zurich Collective Revives Local Restaurant

A youth collective and a secondary school teacher recently opened a community meeting place in the Wilder Mann restaurant in Zurich’s Hirslanden neighborhood. The “Wehrenbach Kollektiv” runs the space with Leo Bauer. They aim to bring multiple generations together in one location.

The newly named “Wilder Mann” association plans events like readings and public viewings of the FIFA World Cup. Residents of the Hirslanden quarter can also propose and organize their own events at the restaurant.

The collective hopes the restaurant becomes a hub for neighborhood interaction. They currently lack long-term funding and rely on short-term agreements with the property owner. The group continues to seek sustainable financial support for the project.
