LG Guarantees Air Conditioner Compressors for Life

LG in Spain now guarantees the compressors in its air conditioners for a lifetime. The electronics company, with 60 years of experience making air conditioning units and 30 in Spain, recently announced this unprecedented warranty. LG believes this demonstrates confidence in the durability of its products and aims to address the common dilemma of repair versus replacement when an air conditioner fails.

The company’s Dual Inverter compressors use a dual rotor technology designed to reduce mechanical wear and extend the component’s lifespan. LG also incorporates artificial intelligence into models like the Dualcool AI Air S, allowing users to set monthly electricity spending limits and automatically adjust operation. The units feature presence detectors and open window sensors to avoid wasting energy.

While LG has added a corrosion-resistant coating to protect outdoor units from harsh weather, the longevity of repairs still depends on quick access to parts and service. LG reports 97% of spare parts are delivered within 24 hours from a warehouse in Spain and maintains a network of over 2,000 trained technicians. The company views product durability as a key element of sustainability, reducing waste and the need for new production.
