Why this is here: MG reported 41,454 vehicle registrations in Europe between January and February 2026, representing a 4.8% increase year-over-year, establishing it as the leading Chinese brand in the region.

MG announced it will begin mass production of its SolidCore Battery, a semisolid-state battery, by late 2026. The Chinese automaker claims it is the first manufacturer globally to achieve this. These batteries offer increased range, faster charging, and improved performance in cold weather.

MG states the SolidCore Battery’s solid electrolytes create a protective barrier. This extends battery life and meets European regulations.

The new architecture also improves performance in low temperatures. It allows for immediate vehicle startup without preheating.

The company also opened a new engineering center in Frankfurt, Germany. This center will develop vehicles for the European market.

MG presented its next-generation Hybrid+ system, increasing battery capacity to 1.83 kWh. It improves efficiency, range, and lowers running costs.
