Seville’s Bar Ventura Receives “Emblematic Establishment” Award

Seville’s Bar Ventura received an award on Friday recognizing it as an “Emblematic Establishment of the City of Seville.” Located in the Arenal district, the bar initially earned this distinction from the city council in 2024 for its over 80 years of operation and contribution to Seville’s hospitality history.

Mayor José Luis Sanz stated the award acknowledges the bar’s “enormous patrimonial, cultural and human value” and its place in the collective memory of Seville. Founded on December 4, 1944, by Ventura Pérez, the bar is now run by his grandchildren, Raquel, Cristina, Ventura, and Patricia Pérez Armíger, who continue the family legacy.

The award honors businesses operating for more than 40 years that stand out due to the uniqueness of their activity or the value of their building. Bar Ventura’s building is over a century old and protected as part of Seville’s historical heritage, retaining its original layout and many features. The bar continues to be a significant gathering place for local brotherhoods and has strong ties to the world of bullfighting.
