HCM City Delivers Public Services Directly to Homes

HCM City authorities in Vietnam are proactively bringing public services to residents’ homes and neighborhoods to cut down on travel time and accelerate digital governance. Officials are conducting second shifts outside of regular office hours, visiting residents like those impacted by the Lê Quang Đạo Road expansion, to assist with paperwork and processing of applications for things like home repairs and permits.

Several communes are piloting different approaches. Bà Điểm Commune provides after-hours support on Thursdays, while Thái Mỹ Commune offers at-home signature authentication for vulnerable populations.

The city is also decentralising support through community hubs and youth volunteer teams, helping residents navigate online procedures and submit applications electronically. Authorities measure success by public satisfaction, aiming for practical administrative reform.
