Novartis Vietnam, Health Agency Partner on Healthcare

Why this is here: The “Live Healthy Together” program improved hypertension control rates in Việt Nam from 32 percent to 67 percent between 2024 and 2025 in participating communities.

In Hà Nội, Việt Nam, the Department of Medical Services Administration and Novartis Vietnam signed a memorandum of understanding to improve healthcare delivery through 2030. The agreement builds on thirteen years of Novartis’ “Live Healthy Together” program within the country. It focuses on scientific exchange, clinical capacity, technology, and impact evaluation.

The partnership intends to shift from traditional collaboration toward a more sustainable, system-level approach. This change aims to improve treatment outcomes and reduce disease burden across Việt Nam. Since 2012, the “Live Healthy Together” program reached over two million people in 34 provinces with education on hypertension, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases.

Early data from 2024 to 2025 shows hypertension control rose from 32 to 67 percent in program areas. Diabetes control improved from 27 to 79 percent during the same period.

While the program shows promise, it currently focuses on a limited number of non-communicable diseases and requires continued monitoring to assess long-term impact. The two organizations will continue working to expand access to care and build a stronger healthcare system.
