Why this is here: The project required clearing and leveling land, as well as a 500-mile delivery from Bangkok, demonstrating a significant logistical undertaking to reach the remote community of Mae Suek.

DHL Express and Manchester United completed a professional-grade, all-weather football pitch in Mae Suek, Thailand. The pitch serves a community of 11,577 people, over 85% of whom are Manchester United supporters. Manchester United legend Patrice Evra opened the facility and led a training session for local children.

Bruno Fernandes, Manchester United’s captain, sent a video message and provided club jerseys to the community. The new pitch will give over 1,000 students daily access to training, overcoming previous limitations due to weather and terrain.

DHL delivered the pitch materials via five trucks traveling 500 miles from Bangkok. Local Hmong tribal members blessed the pitch upon completion, and the facility is intended to host regional tournaments and support a local academy.
