Why this is here: The H&H dance group’s membership increased from five founding members to around fifty, creating a space for cross-cultural friendships through shared activity.

A Malaysian dance group called H&H (Healthy and Happy) has gained popularity on social media for its videos. The group, comprised of women aged 50 to 70 from various ethnic backgrounds, began formally in 2017 with five members.

Currently, H&H has grown to approximately 50 members. They meet on weekends to dance and exercise in parks. The group often wears traditional Southeast Asian clothing, specifically kebaya, during their performances.

H&H initially uploaded videos to TikTok for fun. They did not expect the videos to become viral and receive positive feedback. The group views dancing as a way to stay healthy and promote cultural heritage for future generations.
