Malaysian Dance Group Shares Culture, Joy Online

Why this is here: The H&H dance group’s videos feature members wearing traditional kebaya, actively promoting Southeast Asian cultural pride alongside messages of health and unity.
The H&H dance group, comprised of women aged 50 to 70, gained popularity on social media with videos set to a trending song. The group formed in October 2017 and now includes approximately 50 members from diverse ethnic backgrounds.
H&H uses dance as a form of exercise and artistic expression. They frequently perform in traditional Southeast Asian clothing, such as the kebaya.
Group representative Sugiarti Rizal said the videos were initially shared for fun. She emphasized the kebaya represents cultural heritage and should be preserved. The group meets weekly at Taman Tasik Manjalara and Taman Desa.
