Punjab Scheme Assists Over 33 Lakh Women, Data Reveals Age Trends

The Punjab government reports that over 33 lakh women in India have received financial assistance through the Mukh Mantri Maawan Dhian Satkar Yojana. Data released by the state indicates that women aged 36 to 59 comprise over half of the scheme’s beneficiaries, with the 36 to 45 and 46 to 59 age groups accounting for 25.2% and 25.4% respectively.

The government suggests this demographic distribution reflects a period when families often face significant expenses related to children’s education, healthcare, and housing. Beneficiaries confirm they are using the funds to cover these costs, as well as everyday household needs.

Around 70 lakh women have registered for the program so far, with remaining eligible applicants scheduled to receive funds on August 1. The state continues to monitor how the direct benefit transfers impact families and address financial burdens.
