Free Food Distribution Begins in Florida

Organizations in Florida will begin distributing free food, including fresh produce and prepared meals, starting July 20th. Several non-profit networks announced the initiative to provide food assistance to those in need across the state. Distributions will take place at locations like churches, schools, and community centers, coordinated with support from the USDA.

All Faiths Food Bank will focus on Sarasota and DeSoto counties, offering both fixed pantry options and drive-thru services. Farm Share and Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida will manage deliveries in other areas, following specific schedules.

The program also includes ongoing services to help people find food pantries and participate in federal aid programs. Summer BreakSpot provides free meals for children and teenagers during school breaks, and a search tool is available to locate nearby distribution sites.
