Eduardo Larbanois and Julio Víctor González, El Zucará, will perform together on August 6th at El Galpón in Montevideo, Uruguay, as part of a show called Canciones de la resistencia. The performance is a musical documentary reconstructing the role of popular song during the Uruguayan dictatorship and the subsequent return to democracy, following a successful debut with other artists last year.

The show will be structured around themes, “The Winter”, “The Exile”, and “The Confinement”, and narrated by actress Martina Bagnato. Larbanois and El Zucará will be accompanied by the band Arruca, and El Zucará will perform with his children, Martín and Daniela.

The artists reflect on their long friendship and the importance of canto popular in resisting oppression and rebuilding Uruguayan society. The performance will also be recorded for a future live album, continuing a project that began with a similar recording of Braulio López and Carlos Benavídes. Tickets are available now, ranging from 1475 to 1670 pesos.
