Venezuela Provides Shelter and Aid to Earthquake Victims

Jorge Rodríguez, president of the Venezuelan Parliament, stated that the Ciudad Vacacional Los Caracas facility in La Guaira state serves as the largest assistance center for citizens displaced by the June 24th earthquakes. Government commissions are prioritizing the refurbishment of communal and recreational areas for children at the facility.

The tourist complex currently houses 287 families, part of a larger group of 12,400 people left homeless by the seismic events. Officials report rapid progress in construction and essential services to improve living conditions for those sheltered there, aiming to provide dignified treatment and care.

Beyond Los Caracas, the government is managing 107 temporary camps nationwide, providing protection for a total of 21,470 people. Ministries are coordinating census data to assign permanent housing to those displaced, with construction already underway to accelerate the rehousing process.
