Venezuelans in Buenos Aires Honor Argentine Rescue Workers

Venezuelan civil association Alianza por Venezuela honored Argentine rescue workers in Buenos Aires after they completed a humanitarian mission in La Guaira, Venezuela. The teams responded to the June 24th earthquakes that resulted in over 4,500 deaths and numerous injuries.

The tribute, held at the Centro Venezolano Argentino with a solidarity soup kitchen, recognized groups including Cuerpo de Evacuación y Primeros Auxilios (CEPA Argentina), Fénix Unit Rescue, and the NGO Solidaire. Rescuers shared difficult scenes from La Guaira, noting the prevalence of families found embracing under rubble and the generosity of local residents who offered assistance despite their own losses.

Leaders from the Venezuelan diaspora in Argentina thanked the Argentine government for dispatching a large contingent, second only to the United States, of over 250 personnel. Alianza por Venezuela and other groups are now urging continued support through donations to UNHCR or Caritas to aid families left homeless and rebuild affected areas.
