Venezuela Observes Minute of Silence for Carmen Navas

Carmen Navas passed away on Sunday at 7:00 pm, according to journalist Rafael Hernández Marcano. She had been seeking justice for her son’s forced disappearance and death. On Saturday, Navas felt unwell and received medical attention, but requested to return home.

The journalist Maryorin Méndez described Navas as fading but determined to be at home. Sunday morning, she struggled to eat and was taken to a hospital, where she died shortly after arriving. Family members have been notified and are now planning her burial, with a wish to place her near her son.
