Greenvolt Next Builds Solar Project in Romania

Greenvolt Next will develop a 2.16 MW photovoltaic system with a 10.03 MWh battery in Satu Mare, Romania. The company signed an agreement with Sam Mills to build and operate the project for on-site energy consumption. Greenvolt Next plans to invest over EUR 2.6 million, increasing its total renewable energy investments for Sam Mills to over EUR 2.8 million.

The new system includes 3,660 solar panels and stores surplus energy for later use. Sam Mills, a milling company exporting to 35 countries, will access clean energy without initial costs through a Power Purchase Agreement. A previous 456 kWp system at Sam Mills is projected to save the company over EUR 100,000 over five years.

Greenvolt Next currently manages 22 projects in northwestern Romania with 7.2 MW of installed capacity. These projects are estimated to reduce CO2 emissions by roughly 5,800 tons annually. The company notes that further expansion depends on continued geopolitical stability and energy market conditions.
