PPC Renewables Romania to Add Battery Storage to Wind Farm

PPC Renewables Romania will construct a 40.08 MW / 80.16 MWh battery energy storage system at its Corugea wind farm in Tulcea County, southeastern Romania. The company intends to continue adding storage capacity alongside expanding renewable energy production, targeting 2 GW of installed capacity in Romania. The Corugea wind farm currently has 35 turbines with a 70 MW capacity and generates roughly 190,000 MWh of electricity each year.
This project follows the recent installation of a 4.47 MW / 8.94 MWh battery system at PPC Renewables Romania’s solar park in Colibași. The addition of battery storage is intended to help integrate more renewable energy sources into the grid.
