AI Platform Cuts Teacher Planning Time by 50% in India

Alok Kumar Singh, an educator and data scientist in India, founded Spark School AI to alleviate the burden of lesson planning on teachers. Singh observed that educators spend excessive time adapting existing content rather than focusing on teaching itself, a problem he witnessed while working with schools across Gujarat and beyond. Spark School AI is a curriculum-aware platform aligning with CBSE, ICSE, and other Indian education boards, generating lesson plans, worksheets, quizzes, and assessments for grades 1 to 12.

The platform allows teachers to select their board, grade, subject, and chapter to instantly create structured teaching materials, freeing them from repetitive tasks. Pilot programs show teachers save approximately 50% of their weekly planning time, leading to more confident classroom delivery and reduced mental strain.

Spark School AI is designed to be accessible to both private and government schools, with pricing capped at roughly 499 rupees per student annually, and is currently deployed in cities like Ahmedabad and Pune, as well as in pilot programs in Uttar Pradesh. The platform aims to support teachers by streamlining preparation and allowing them to focus on student engagement and understanding.
