Why this is here: The Vishwaguru Chulha drastically reduces wood consumption—using 2 kg compared to 10 kg for traditional stoves—potentially easing fuel concerns for businesses and families.

Sher Khan, an iron craftsman in Udaipur, built a wood-burning stove capable of cooking for 25 people in 30 minutes. The Vishwaguru Chulha can boil, fry, and bake simultaneously. It allows for multiple dishes to cook at once, including rotis, dal, and grilled items.

Khan, a Class 8 dropout, developed the stove 27 years ago after noticing the time women spent cooking. He secured a patent for the design in 2017 after years of refinement.

The Vishwaguru Chulha uses 2 kg of wood, compared to the 10 kg required by traditional stoves. It also produces less smoke. Over 1,000 of these stoves are currently in use across India.
