New Apps Focus on Privacy, Family Time, and Literacy

Several new applications launched this week offer solutions for digital privacy, quality family time, and early literacy support. Holepunch released Keet, a peer-to-peer messaging app that prioritizes user privacy by forgoing servers and data collection. Keet uses a 24-word phrase for user identification and encrypts all communications.

Meanwhile, Pathfinder FZCO introduced Hearty, an app providing parents with hundreds of age-appropriate activities to engage with their children. Hearty suggests activities categorized by themes like fun, family time, and education, aiming to foster emotional development through 20 minutes of daily connection.

Finally, the EdTech startup Dyscovery developed Discovery, an AI-powered app to combat dyslexia. The app uses a “karaoke” reading style to help children practice reading and writing, currently being tested in five schools across Portugal with over 100 students.
