Brazil’s Parks Open Doors to Public

Over 350 conservation units across Brazil will host free activities on July 18 and 19 as part of the ninth edition of ‘Um Dia no Parque’, a nationwide event promoting Brazil’s protected areas. The campaign, themed “Brazil, champion by nature,” aims to showcase the richness of Brazilian biodiversity and landscapes.

Visitors can find a diverse program of experiences including hikes, birdwatching, and ecological workshops via the www.umdianoparque.org.br website and the eTrilhas app. Organizers expect to exceed 500 activities this year, building on the success of previous events which have mobilized over 500,000 people since 2018.

The initiative, inspired by the US National Park Week, welcomes participation from federal, state, municipal, and private conservation units. The event coincides with the 26th anniversary of Brazil’s National System of Conservation Units law and seeks to strengthen connections between visitors, local communities, and park managers.
