Brazil’s Most Energy-Efficient 18,000 BTU AC Units

Why this is here: The Daikin Ecoswing Smart R-32 leads in efficiency, consuming 560 kWh annually, and its Swing compressor minimizes mechanical losses for lower energy use.
A technical analysis identified the most energy-efficient 18,000 BTU air conditioners available in Brazil. The study assessed annual energy consumption of various models to determine which units offer the best cooling with the lowest financial impact. Daikin’s Ecoswing Smart R-32 model consumed 560 kWh annually, costing roughly R$0.19 per hour based on an average energy tariff of R$0.72/kWh.
The analysis, conducted with data from WebPrice, considered the new Inmetro efficiency index and the adoption of the R-32 refrigerant. Consumption varied significantly across brands, with the Electrolux Inverter Frio QI18F consuming 700 kWh annually.
Regional energy tariffs impact monthly costs; operating the most efficient Daikin model 8 hours daily costs R$42.00 in Curitiba but R$54.92 in Manaus. Samsung and LG models also offer connectivity features allowing users to monitor and limit energy consumption.
