Mexico to Build Trolebus Line for One Million Residents

The governments of Mexico and the State of Mexico will construct a 10.1 kilometer trolebus line in Ixtapaluca and Valle de Chalco, Mexico, with a joint investment of 2.5 billion pesos. The project forms part of a larger plan for the eastern zone of the State of Mexico, coordinated between national, state, and local governments to address transportation needs.

The new Trolebús Ixtapaluca will feature 12 stations and connect to the Puente Blanco station of the Mexiquense Chalco - Santa Marta Line 11 trolebus, expanding mobility options for residents traveling between municipalities. Officials estimate the new line will reduce daily commute times by up to 45 minutes for over one million people in the region.

Alongside the trolebus, the plan includes an expansion of Line 3 of the Mexibús in Nezahualcóyotl, adding six stations and 31 articulated buses. The overall initiative seeks to improve public transportation access and efficiency in the eastern State of Mexico.
