In Guerrero, Mexico, Esthela Damián Outlines Financial Plan Without Tax Hikes

Esthela Damián Peralta presented the “Guerrero del Futuro” project in Guerrero, Mexico, emphasizing a commitment to financial responsibility and avoiding new state taxes. The initiative, unveiled at a forum, aims to move beyond political promises by ensuring all public policies are backed by viable budgets.

The plan focuses on several key areas including citizen security, continuing the national strategy of the current president, sustainable tourism in Acapulco, Taxco, and the coasts, and boosting Guerrero’s agricultural and fishing sectors where it already leads national production in crops like mango and coffee. Damián also highlighted inclusion and wellbeing initiatives, prioritizing youth employment, women’s empowerment (women comprise 52% of the state’s population), and support for victims of discrimination. The project’s success depends on collective participation, with citizens invited to submit proposals via a dedicated website with a goal to formalize the plan within one month.
