Luxembourg Donors Support Nearly 100,000 Children

SOS Villages d’enfants Monde aided roughly 100,000 people in fifteen countries and territories during 2025. The Luxembourgish association received over 13.3 million euros in donations, bequests, and grants. Grand Duchess Stéphanie extended her patronage to the organization last November, recognizing its work since 1974.

SOS Villages d’enfants Monde operates in Africa, Asia, South America, and Europe, supporting 27 projects. These initiatives benefit over 60,000 young people and involve 37,000 child protection workers. Private donations totaled nearly 10 million euros, boosted by a surge in bequests exceeding 6.7 million euros.

Funding also came from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, though that support decreased by 26.5% from 2024 to under 3 million euros. The organization used these funds for emergency aid in Ethiopia, Gaza, and Cape Verde, alongside long-term programs addressing malnutrition and access to clean water.

Sophie Giseler, director of SOS Villages d’enfants Monde, acknowledges the ongoing responsibility that comes with this support. The association continues to rely on sustained contributions for its global programs.
