Luxembourg’s SNHBM Reports Record Year

Luxembourg’s national affordable housing company, SNHBM, presented its 2025 annual report, revealing record activity and new construction starts. The report follows a recovery year in 2024, after the company experienced its first deficit in 2023. SNHBM began construction on 473 new homes in 2025, an increase of over 57% from the previous year.

The company also completed 288 homes and had 1,335 under construction. SNHBM achieved a net result of roughly 10.43 million euros, a significant improvement from the 47,647 euros earned the year before. The rental property portfolio increased to 624 units, with 5,709 people currently registered for rentals.

Demand for future-state-of-completion acquisitions is lower than for existing properties. SNHBM plans to build 400 additional units each year, and currently holds land reserves for 3,032 homes. The organization continues to collaborate with local municipalities to tailor projects to specific needs, and work progresses on large projects like Elmen in Olm.
