Luxembourg Boosts Energy Renovation Aid To 2030

The Luxembourg government revised its “Klimabonus Wunnen” program to accelerate energy renovations in residential buildings and encourage renewable energy technologies. The program, linked to the country’s National Energy and Climate Plan, extends to December 31, 2030, with changes applicable retroactively to January 1, 2026.

The government increased aid amounts, particularly for ecological insulation materials, and relaxed some technical requirements to simplify renovations. Support for energy advice is also expanding, allowing homeowners to request it when submitting their initial application.

From 2027, Luxembourg will offer pre-financing for heat pumps and energy-efficient renovations, allowing citizens to deduct subsidies from the final invoice. Temporary increases to aid amounts, stemming from a tripartite agreement, will be available through June 2027. The goal is to provide planning security for households and businesses while reducing carbon emissions.
