강원대병원 Celebrates 26 Years With Regional Healthcare Focus

Kangwon National University Hospital in South Korea held its 26th anniversary celebration, recognizing staff and outlining future goals. Hospital President Nam Woo-dong stated the hospital will work toward a self-contained regional healthcare system. He also mentioned strengthening capabilities in AI-based precision medicine and education.

Park Hyo-eun, a nurse, received a special award for rescuing a pregnant woman who collapsed at a shopping mall in April. During the ceremony, four doctors—Park Seung-woo, Lee Seung-joon, Kim Sang-uk, and Lee Kang-uk—were named “Best Doctors” for their contributions.

The hospital acknowledges challenges remain in fully integrating AI and expanding research capacity. Kangwon National University Hospital continues to develop its role in providing critical care within the region.
