LG and UNESCO Develop Global AI Ethics Education

LG AI Research and UNESCO launched a collaborative project to develop a free artificial intelligence ethics education course accessible worldwide. The organizations held a global launch event in Seoul, South Korea, on July 20.

The project will utilize the online learning platform Coursera, founded by AI expert Andrew Ng, to deliver the program. UNESCO Director-General Khaled El-Enany stated the course will translate UNESCO’s “AI Ethics Recommendation” into practical education.

South Korea’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Science and ICT, Lee Byung-hoon, emphasized the importance of international cooperation in establishing shared principles for safe and trustworthy AI ecosystems. The initiative aims to promote ethical considerations throughout the development and application of AI technologies.
