Rome's Street Paper Gives Voice to the Homeless

In Rome, Italy, the editorial team of “L’osservatore di strada” (The Street Observer), a newspaper staffed entirely by people experiencing homelessness, shares stories and perspectives from within their community. The paper originates from an initiative of the “La Speranza” association, which provides aid to those without housing at the Santi Francesco e Caterina parish.

The monthly publication features articles and reflections written by its homeless contributors.

The team distributes “L’osservatore di strada” in public spaces like St. Peter’s Square and within local parishes, aiming to make visible those often overlooked by society.
