Brothers Die in Molise Road Accident

In Castel del Giudice, Italy, brothers Alessio and Simone Gentile died in a car accident on Saturday, May 16th. Alessio, 41, worked as an accountant and led the local Legambiente chapter. He also helped start a community apiary project blending biodiversity, beekeeping, and job creation.

Simone, 45, ran the Bio Melise organic farm, reclaiming abandoned land to support local produce. Both brothers actively invested in the future of their town, contributing to its growth as a hub for experiential tourism. Last August, Legambiente awarded them its national Biodiversity prize for the community apiary.

Legambiente Molise remembers the brothers as dedicated men who valued their community. Andrea De Marco, president of Legambiente Molise, expressed his personal loss of two close friends. The cause of the accident remains unstated, and the impact on ongoing projects is still unfolding.
