Barilla Agrees to New Labor Deal Through 2029

Barilla and unions Fai, Flai, and Uila reached a new collective agreement covering 2026 to 2029 for workers in Italy. The agreement includes an economic package worth 12,680 euros per worker over the four years, potentially increasing by an additional 30%.

The deal also strengthens worker rights regarding industrial relations, particularly concerning investments in artificial intelligence. A new committee will facilitate discussions on group strategies, and workers will have increased rights to information and consultation.

Barilla committed to advancements in diversity and inclusion, data sharing on sustainability, and work-life balance with new permissions for childcare and family care. The company will also limit the use of staff leasing to 24 to 30 months, aiming for greater worker stabilization and provide additional economic support for workers with disabilities. Workers will vote on the agreement in upcoming assemblies.
