The panels allow households to use solar power via standard outlets without installation costs. This initiative complements recent government actions, including bringing forward the annual renewables auction. That auction secured enough clean energy to power 23 million homes.
New rules also took effect requiring solar panels and clean heating in most new homes. These homes could save families up to £830 annually on energy bills. The government also plans legislation to discount energy bills on windy days, utilizing excess wind power instead of paying turbines to shut down.
