Alteo Launches Advanced Waste Processing Plant in Hungary

Alteo Circular Kft. began trial operations at its new deposit return system (DRS) waste processing plant in Kistarcsa, Hungary. FE-Group Invest Zrt. financed the investment, which aims to increase Alteo’s annual processing capacity for beverage packaging. The facility will handle PET bottles and metal cans, integrating them back into the circular economy through a fully automated process.

The Kistarcsa plant received regulatory approval on July 6 and represents Alteo’s second such production line, following a similar installation in Kőbánya last year. This development strengthens Alteo’s commitment to circular economy principles and resource efficiency.

Alteo anticipates the new plant will double its total DRS waste processing capacity. The company will now focus on optimizing operations during the trial run to reach full capacity quickly and support Hungary’s mandatory deposit return system.
