Women’s Health Funding Reaches Record High In 2025

Women’s health companies globally secured $1.55 billion in funding during 2025, a 41% increase from the previous year. W Group’s report tracking over 500 funding stories revealed 85 companies raised equity, the highest single-year count on record.

Ten funding rounds exceeded $50 million, double the number seen in 2024. Funding in 2025 prioritized clinically focused companies, with investments in companies like Visana Health, SheMed, and ReproNovo leading the way.

While investment is growing, the report noted a bottleneck in Series A funding, approximately 40 companies secure pre-seed and seed funding annually, but only 20 to 25 progress to Series A. Notably, capital distribution became more widespread in 2025, with the largest three rounds accounting for 32% of all funding, down from 39% in 2024. W Group identifies closing the Series A gap as crucial for sustained growth in 2026, while McKinsey & Company and the World Economic Forum estimate addressing women’s health disparities could boost the global economy by $1 trillion annually by 2040.
