The Ministry of Digital Governance and Artificial Intelligence in Greece now offers free access to over 9,000 datasets from 450 public entities. The new national data portal, data.gov.gr, collects information from government agencies, local authorities, and public sector organizations. Citizens, researchers, businesses, and professionals can access all datasets with one click.

The platform also includes an advanced search assistant with multiple criteria, such as geographic area. Officials state the portal serves as a policy hub and essential infrastructure for developing artificial intelligence applications. Reliable digital services require high-quality, structured data.

Digital Governance Minister Dimitris Papastergiou noted the previous data infrastructure contained few and outdated datasets. He emphasized this launch does not involve personal data, but information for new applications, research, and transparency. The ongoing challenge involves collaborating with organizations to securely open their data.
