Greece Extends Energy Upgrade Program Deadline To 2026

The Greek Ministry of Environment and Energy extended the deadline to November 30, 2026, for specific beneficiaries of the “Exoikonomo” energy upgrade programs. The extension secures additional funding to complete approved home energy efficiency renovations.

More than 100,000 homeowners have already upgraded their properties through these programs, and over 93,000 received support via the “Change Heating System. Water Heaters” program.

The extension applies to applicants who have already paid advance payments to suppliers and to those with applications currently in progress. The “Exoikonomo” programs, including “Exoikonomo 2021”, “Exoikonomo 2023”, “Exoikonomo 2025”, and “Exoikonomo, Renovate for Young People”, have collectively allocated over 1.4 billion euros.

This move aims to reduce household energy costs, improve the building stock, and strengthen Greece’s energy security. The government hopes the extended deadline will allow more citizens to benefit from the initiatives and contribute to national sustainability goals.
