Couple’s Bakery Thrives in Eure-et-Loir

Why this is here: The couple chose to invest in a local business despite having a wedding planned, demonstrating a commitment to revitalizing their community’s commerce.
A young municipal secretary and her partner purchased a bakery in Nogent-le-Rotrou and are now selling about 400 baguettes daily. Manon Farin and Alexis Cadieu invested 15,000 euros of their savings into the business after spotting a commercial lease advertisement.
Farin continues to work part-time at the town hall while also managing the bakery. Cadieu, a trained baker, begins work at 3:00 AM each day. The couple lives above the bakery with their three-year-old daughter to manage the demanding schedule.
They partnered with a local flour producer and increased prices to focus on quality ingredients. Farin uses social media to promote the bakery and attract customers from a wide area. She anticipates eventually leaving her position at the town hall as the business grows.
