Janus Electric Secures $10M Order for Diesel-To-Electric Truck Conversions

Australian company Janus Electric expanded its order book in North America to 45 diesel-to-electric truck conversions, including a $A10 million order from US customer Ability Tri-Modal. Janus Electric offers a swappable battery technology allowing fleets to convert diesel trucks to electric vehicles using a pay-as-you-go model. The company is also beginning a commercial phase in Canada with a Toronto-based partner involving five vehicle conversions and 15 swappable batteries, with plans for a further 20 conversions if the initial phase proves successful.

Janus Electric is also pursuing opportunities in Australia’s mining, linehaul, and quarry sectors, including a memorandum of understanding for eight vehicle conversions. The company paused trading of its shares on the ASX pending an announcement regarding a material contract, signaling further potential growth. Janus Electric aims to scale manufacturing to meet demand and generate recurring revenue.
