Zelestra Commissions 162 MW Solar Cluster in Spain
Why this is here: The Belinchón solar cluster includes a single-axis tracker system, a technology chosen to maximize energy output from the 275,000 installed solar modules.
Zelestra activated three solar plants—Belinchón I, II, and III—in Castilla-La Mancha, Spain. The combined capacity of the plants totals 162 MW. Zelestra’s EPC team completed the projects, located in Cuenca, within fourteen months.
The solar cluster utilizes 275,000 modules. These modules mount on a single-axis tracker system. This system aims to improve energy generation efficiency.
The operational plants will reportedly avoid 42,700 tonnes of CO2 emissions each year. A long-term power purchase agreement supports the projects via the Energize program.
Schneider Electric manages the program and focuses on supply chain decarbonization. In September 2025, Zelestra signed a tolling agreement with BKW for a 2 GW battery energy storage system in Italy.
