PAM Rwanda Engages Sudanese Community for Pan-African Unity

The Pan-African Movement (PAM) Rwanda Chapter is increasing collaboration with the Sudanese community in Rwanda to foster Pan-Africanism and cultivate youth leadership on the continent. The initiative began with a dialogue on July 11, uniting Sudan’s Ambassador to Rwanda, Sudanese students, and PAM Rwanda officials to discuss African unity and future partnerships. PAM Rwanda is broadening its outreach to African diaspora communities and ambassadors in Rwanda, building on a 2025 event and ongoing programs.

Rwanda currently hosts over 15,000 students from across Africa, including approximately 4,000 from Sudan, providing a unique environment for promoting continental integration. The dialogue resulted in a decision to incorporate Sudanese community members into PAM Rwanda’s youth programs, allowing for joint training and participation. Both PAM Rwanda and Sudan’s ambassador emphasized the importance of youth in advancing Pan-African ideals and learning from Rwanda’s experience in national development and reconciliation.

The partnership aims to inspire Sudanese youth to champion Pan-Africanism and act as cultural bridges between Sudan and Rwanda upon their return home.
