UK RPF Members Reflect on Rwanda’s Development and Diaspora Role

Approximately 200 members of the Rwanda Patriotic Front (RPF-Inkotanyi) convened in Brighton, United Kingdom, on July 18 to discuss Rwanda’s progress over the last 32 years and the Rwandan diaspora’s contribution to the nation’s growth. The event included both long-time RPF members and younger, British-raised Rwandans reflecting on the country’s liberation and transformation.

Participants considered how Rwandans living abroad can further support nation-building through their skills and experience, focusing on preserving Rwandan culture and values for future generations.

Egide Ruhashya, chairperson of RPF UK, emphasized the unity displayed at the gathering, while High Commissioner Johnston Busingye highlighted unity, accountability, and equal opportunity as cornerstones of Rwanda’s development. The group reaffirmed its commitment to Rwanda’s future and prioritized continued national unity and self-reliance.
