Jibu Rwanda Scales Social Enterprise to Serve 300,000+

Jibu Rwanda is expanding its network of franchises, providing affordable safe drinking water and creating jobs across the country. Founded in 2013, the company now serves over 300,000 regular consumers through a refill model that lowers costs and reduces plastic waste. Jibu operates more than 35 franchises and 65 production facilities in Rwanda, employing over 6,000 retailers and 600 people directly.

The company prioritizes both commercial growth and social impact, and has expanded into eight countries including Uganda, Tanzania, and Ghana. Beyond water, Jibu recently launched Jibu Gas One, a partnership introducing smart gas stations that allow customers to purchase cooking gas in flexible amounts.

Jibu also invests in technical skills development, training over 100 engineering students annually and supports vulnerable communities through renovation projects. The company aims to continue expanding its reach and impact through innovation and community development programs.
