Tanzania Secures Digital Growth Support From Brazil and Poland

Tanzania’s Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Angellah Kairuki, secured agreements with Brazil and Poland to boost digital development during the World Summit on the Information Society in Geneva, Switzerland. Discussions with Brazil’s Technology Ambassador, Eugenio Garcia, focused on infrastructure, cybersecurity, AI, and investment in Tanzania’s data centres. Brazil offered to share its experience with AI strategies, digital government platforms, and expanding rural communications.

Kairuki also met with Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister, Krzysztof Gawkowski, outlining Tanzania’s priorities for digital transformation including expanded access to communications, digital identity, and cybersecurity. Both countries expressed interest in formalizing cooperation through Memorandums of Understanding and exchanging expertise.

The partnerships aim to accelerate Tanzania’s digital agenda and sustainable development. Technical discussions between experts from both nations will begin to implement these collaborations, focusing on areas like digital payment systems and critical infrastructure protection.
