PowerField Partners with Dutch Grid Operators for Solar Park Flexibility

Why this is here: The Hollandscheveld solar park in Drenthe successfully adjusted its electricity production in response to grid demand, directly contributing to grid relief during periods of high energy input.
PowerField signed an agreement with TenneT, Stedin, Liander, and Enexis to enable flexible operation of its solar parks. The agreement covers over 300 megawatts peak (MWp) of solar capacity.
Net operators can now adjust electricity production from PowerField’s solar parks during peak demand. This flexibility helps maintain a stable and reliable power grid. The companies aim to optimize grid capacity and integrate more renewable energy sources.
TenneT began a pilot project at the 51 MWp Hollandscheveld solar park in Drenthe. TenneT can temporarily reduce output from this park to manage high-voltage grid stress. PowerField already supports grid balancing through energy storage and now also as a Congestion Service Provider.
