DeepMind and Isomorphic Labs Partner on Bioresilience

Google DeepMind and Isomorphic Labs are collaborating on a bioresilience program to both prevent misuse of their AI models and enable their use in strengthening global health security. The companies are focusing on three key areas: prevention of malicious use, faster detection of outbreaks, and quicker response through therapeutic and vaccine development. Over the past year, they’ve formed over 15 partnerships with governments and research groups.

Their work builds on advances like AlphaFold, which maps protein structures, and IsoDDE, an AI-powered drug design engine. They are adapting technologies like SynthID watermarking for biological sequences and using AlphaEvolve to optimize pathogen surveillance.

This initiative is part of a broader effort to manage chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear risks, and the companies emphasize open collaboration with the scientific community to responsibly deploy AI for global health.
